Nuclear training center Milan Čopič ICJT

ICJT is part of the Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia’s leading research institution.
ICJT provides training for future nuclear professionals and raises public awareness about nuclear technologies.
The ICJT’s vision is to be a trusted and high-quality source of knowledge on nuclear technologies.

Our activities

We provide nuclear technology training for the staff of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant and other organizations.
As an authorized radiation protection expert, we conduct training for personnel involved in radiation practices and radiological procedures.
With many years of experience in organizing international courses and professional meetings, both in Slovenia and abroad, we also offer consulting in the development of educational and information activities.

These courses provide initial training for future Krško Nuclear Power Plant operators and technical personnel requiring specific or fundamental knowledge of the plant’s operation.

The Milan Čopič Nuclear Training Centre of the Jožef Stefan Institute is an authorized radiation protection expert organization, certified to provide radiation protection training for individuals involved in radiation practices and for operators performing radiological procedures in the following fields: nuclear medicine in human and veterinary healthcare; industrial, research, and educational activities involving radiation sources; and radiation protection in nuclear and radiation facilities.

Since 1993, more than 4,700 groups from primary and secondary schools, as well as other educational institutions, have visited us. Over 214,000 visitors have toured the ICJT Info Centre!

Among other activities, we also develop informational materials, including the publication The Little Encyclopedia of Nuclear Energy, several brochures for GEN energija, a series of leaflets for the Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (ARAO), various educational software programs, and more.

We have contributed to the organization of most annual meetings of the Slovenian Nuclear Society.

We can also help you organize professional meetings: you prepare the program and guest lists, and we handle all other arrangements.
