The human body has always been exposed to ionizing radiation from various

natural sources. Man has created new sources, radiation is used in medical

therapy and radiography. Accidental irradiation/contamination may occur. This video

explains the properties of ionizing radiation, radioactive decay, and the biological

effects of ionization, e.g. lesures in DNA and genetic mutation in the cell. Different

methods of assesing and monitoring the exposure of the human body to ionizing

radiation as well as decontamination methods are also present
