The Radioactivity Workshop usually follows the lecture, where the source in significance of natural radioactivity is pointed out along with some basic information on electromagnetic radiation.

The 15 minutes workshop is possible in a longer version as well with more experiments and detailed information.

The Vacuum Cleaner Experiment

The vacuum cleaner experiment is carried out during the workshop to demonstrate that radioactivity is all around us - dust particles from the air are caught by a paper filter along with radon progeny; the difference before and after 1 min of suction is clearly demonstrated by the Geiger counter.
